Richard Kirwin is a specialist in cigarette development, spending over 27 years perfecting his abilities in everything from filter design to taste generation.
He also has some experience and exposure to processing and manufacture of Make-your-own, roll-your-own, and Pipe tobaccos.
Richard principally holds knowledge in the following areas for cigarette development as well as Heat Not Burn:
Richard joined British American Tobacco (BAT) in 1997 and was made redundant in 2021. Prior to his redundancy, he worked several roles for BAT across the globe, lending a keen eye and hands-on knowledge to enhance their product.
Between 2000 and 2003, he was seconded to Hong Kong for BAT China as the Tobacco Blending and Cigarette Design Manager, a role which was then followed by an opportunity in the Product Centre Europe for BAT. Moving to Germany for this role, he developed even further knowledge integral to high quality tobacco products.
In 2012 to 2015, he was also seconded to South Korea for BAT Korea. There, Richard worked as the Consumer Product Manager, translating consumer insights into products that exceeded customer expectations.
After BAT redundancy, Richard became Freelance and got a job with LEX Tobacco Company LLC in Armenia for 18 months. During this, he completed a setup for tobacco blend requirements for the company, ensuring consistency in their blending process.
