Cigarette Paper Development

Standard Cigarette Design
Richard uses 27 years’ experience to understand influences on cigarette paper porosity, calcium carbonate content, and burn additive levels. He is also highly knowledgeable on the optical differences available that can be then used for visual effect, such as watermarking or Verge markings (horizontal or vertical).
Self-Extinguishing Cigarette Design
Richard provides clients with extensive knowledge regarding the design and effects on Lower Ignition Propensity (LIP) / self-extinguishing cigarettes. He is also able to consult on the methods for changing current standard cigarettes to self-extinguishing using the correct cigarette papers. This includes band width and band repetition to optimise the self-extinguishment, enabling consumers to continue to enjoy their current brand or preferred cigarette, with the minimum taste impact.
